About

Hi All,

As someone who has spent time both at small businesses and at large corporations, I realize some of the technical challenges that both small business owners and analysts in corporate positions face in their day-to-day lives.  Although Excel was designed to minimize these challenges, using Excel effectively is no easy task.  Admittedly, an intermediate level of Excel proficiency is required to take full advantage of my site.  Regardless, many of posts may be helpful to both beginners and gurus.

Software exists for small businesses owners, entrepreneurs, and individual investors to track financials, project investments, manage human resources, etc.  However, much of this software is geared towards larger businesses with significantly more resources and complexity.  Fortunately, most of these software functions can be replicated on a spreadsheet with some focus, training, and dedication.  With my blog, I aim to show a lot of the techniques and processes that are necessary to create reliable and functional spreadsheets that will add value to your business.

On the other hand, analysts at large companies are constantly asked to break down, manipulate, and summarize large amounts of data.  A significant amount of technical skills are needed to efficiently handle this data and present it in a professional manner.  Whether producing a product for management or a client, the processes that I show can be greatly beneficial in cutting down your time spent on the data, and allow you to spend more time deriving meaningful insights about the business.

As I continue to expand and grow my blog, please feel free to comment and provide suggestions or opinions.  Eventually, I hope to create an extremely useful resource for many people.

Sincerely,
Excel-Slave
